The Walter Turnbow Workforce Readiness Scholarship Fund provides support to students whose parents are employed by the Springdale Water Utilities, or are a graduate of an accredited public high school in Springdale pursuing post-secondary vocational degree or certificate.
The Walter Turnbow Workforce Readiness Scholarship helps deserving students continue their education by providing financial assistance for tuition, books, and associated fees for up to two academic years.
The criteria for selection of the scholarship recipient is determined by the selection committee, and may include, but is not limited to, financial need, unusual circumstances, work experience, and academic performance.
Qualified applicants must be:
* Graduating seniors from an accredited public high school in Springdale; or
* Graduating seniors whose parents are employed by the Springdale Water Utilities;
Seeking a certificate or degree in a post-secondary program that does not terminate in a Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate degree;
* Enrolling at a two--year college or vocational school; and
* Willing to attend a Water Utility meeting.
Age, race, sex, marital status or religious affiliation will have no bearing on eligibility for this scholarship.
