The AGC Education and Research Foundation (AGCERF) is happy to invest in the future of the construction industry by awarding scholarships to deserving students in construction management and engineering programs across the country. The scholarships for undergraduates are $2,500 per year and can be renewed for up to three years. Graduate awards are $3,750 annually up to a maximum of $7,500.
This is a national scholarship program. Most of the AGC Chapters offer scholarships to students in their areas as well. Check here to find an AGC Chapter from your home state or the state in which you attend college to see if they offer a scholarship.
In addition, college seniors should check our Awards page for the James L. Allhands Essay Competition which awards the winner $1,000 and an expense-paid trip to the AGC Annual Convention in February 2018, which is being held in New Orleans.
Applications must be submitted by midnight EST on November 1, 2017 and are for the 2018-19 academic year that begins September 2018. If you are selected as a finalist, you will be notified in February 2018. The next step is an interview with a contractor in your area. Following the interview, scholarship recipients will be selected and announced in March 2018. Students will receive their awards prior to the September 2018 semester. To apply, applications must be completed online. If you have applied for an AGC scholarship during a previous application period, you will NOT be able to use your existing login information. All applicants must sign-up for new login information before starting the application.
There are two very important things to remember:
1.) You must meet the criteria to apply as an Undergraduate or Graduate.
2.) Make sure that your recommenders (one teacher and one employer) know that you are requesting their recommendation. Your application is not considered submitted until all sections are complete and you hit the ‘Submit’ button at the bottom of the page. You will receive a confirmation email when your application has been submitted.
