Description

The Society of South Congregational Church, Brooklyn Scholarship Fund was established in Cleveland, Ohio in 1992. The fund was established via an assignment of assets from the dissolution of the Society.

The fund only is to be used to provide scholarships for theological students from third world nations where the United Church of Christ is working with a local church.

Applicants may only be nominated by (1) an Area Executive of Global Ministries or
(2) a representative of a Partner Organization of Global Ministries in consultation with an Area Executive of Global Ministries.

This fund is awarded once a year, awards range from $20,000 to $30,000.

Requirements

Applicants may only be nominated by (1) an Area Executive of Global Ministries or
(2) a representative of a Partner Organization of Global Ministries in consultation with an Area Executive of Global Ministries.

Applicant shall be a theological student of a third world nation where the UCC is working with a local church.

Applicant, upon completion of accredited study and ordination, will serve the local church in his or her country of origin for a period of no less than three years.
