2017 Amir and Shaheda Khan Scholarship for Law

To provide annual scholarships for individuals of the Islamic faith who are pursuing a Juris Doctor (JD) degree at Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland, OH), Michigan State University (East Lansing, MI), The Ohio State University (Columbus, OH), University of Dayton (Dayton, OH), University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, MI), or The University of Toledo (Toledo, OH) who will be full-time (as defined by the institution) students during the upcoming academic year. Scholarship recipients may re-apply in subsequent years. Applicants must be U.S. citizens..


The criteria used for selection of scholarship recipients include consideration of the following:

a. The applicant must be a United States citizen or have permanent residency status, and of the Islamic faith.

b. The applicant must currently be enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Preference may be given, but not limited, to first year law students.

c. The applicant must be attending one of the following post-secondary institutions (in Ohio or Michigan): Case Western Reserve University, Michigan State University, The Ohio State University, University of Dayton, University of Michigan, or The University of Toledo.

d. Financial need.

e. Average to above-average scholastic aptitude and academic achievemnet.
