To provide annual scholarships for students of the Islamic faith who are pursuing a graduate degree in journalism, communications (which may include concentration in broadcasting, media, film or public relations), business, accounting, finance, economics or related degree at an accredited institution (which must be an organization described in section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code). Scholarship awards will be paid directly to the institution (and not to the student) for purposes of covering education-related expenses such as tuition, books and fees. The scholarship may be renewable.


Selection criteria to be utilized in selecting scholarship recipients must include the following, in priority order:

a) United States citizenship or permanent residency status;
b) Full time status (as defined by the school); and
c) Need for financial assistance.

If numerous potential scholarship recipients meet the above criteria, then final selection of the scholarship recipient(s) shall be based upon academic merit.

It is the Donors’ desire that priority consideration be given, but not limited to, first year graduate students attending schools located within 150 miles of Toledo, OH, preferably schools located in the states of Ohio or Michigan.
