PURPOSE: The Booziotis Best Design Award will result annually in an art work to be displayed throughout the recipient’s senior year at the Routh Street reception desk. The award is for $750 plus an additional amount of up to $250 for art materials. The award is intended to enrich the student’s learning experience and support their artistic development.
ABOUT THE AWARD: This award is given by Bill Booziotis, Principal and President of Booziotis & Company Architects. Mr. Booziotis received his bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin and his Masters of Architecture from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects. Mr. Booziotis has and continues to serve on a variety of boards, advisory councils, visiting committees and development boards for various arts and educational institutions. Booziotis & Company was the project architect for the renovation and new construction of BTWHSPVA.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: The Award is open to juniors in the visual Arts cluster. The piece submitted must not exceed the following dimensions: Height 36”, width 48”, thickness 8”, weight 40 lbs, installation shall utilize a minimum of two hangers. Acceptable media may include ceramics, wood or metal and the piece may include a small signature and date. Must be able to be hung on the wall behind the reception desk and not permanently affixed.
