2017 Owens Corning Employee Scholarship

This scholarship is available to Owens Corning employees that are current full-time employees and who have worked for Owens Corning at least one year at the time of application and are not receiving education assistance through the Owens Corning Graduate Level Education Assistance policy or other country policies.

The applicant must be planning to pursue studies (full or part-time) at a two or four-year college or university or other school of the student's choice accredited by one or more of the accrediting bodies belonging to the "Council on Post Secondary Education" (qualifies as a nonprofit institution).

Scholarships of either $2,000 or $4,000 USD (or equivalent outside the United States) will be awarded. Recipients may receive a maximum of $16,000 in scholarship awards towards higher education.

NOTE: Be sure to allow time before the application deadline for your manager's verification of employment. You will be asked in the application to provide your supervisor/manager's email address, to whom an email will be immediately generated. They will need to respond to complete your application. If you wait until late February to request their input, your application may not be submitted by the due date.


Scholarship recipients will be chosen by the Toledo Community Foundation Scholarship Advisory Committee. The criteria used for selection of scholarship recipients include consideration of the following:

1. Manager approval.
2. Statement of career goals.
3. Prior academic performance.

To be considered for renewal, recipient must apply each year and show progress toward their degree as evidenced by a Grade Point Average of 2.5 or above (or equivalent outside the U.S.).

In assessing the above criteria, the Scholarship Advisory Committee will take into consideration information submitted on the application and transcripts/academic records.

Total Amount Awarded
