The Marysville Kiwanis Club established this scholarship with a donation from Dr. Charles B. Mills, for his interest in education and youth, and dedication to Kiwanis of which he was a past president and served on numerous committees for the benefit of the organization. The scholarship honors the father of the donor, Charles D. Mills M.D., who was a charter president of the Marysville Kiwanis Club in 1923.
The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage qualified students of Marysville High School to seek education beyond high school and to provide financial assistance. The scholarship will be awarded annually in the amount of $1,000.00. The scholarship will be non-renewable, that is, a different student will receive the award each year.
The scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior of Marysville High School who is planning to attend a four-year baccalaureate degree program.

Also taken under consideration by the selection committee, is if any of the applicant's relatives are members of Kiwanis or if the applicant is a Key Club member.
1. The applicant must be a graduating senior at Marysville High School at the time of the application.
2. The applicant must state the school to which an application for admission has been made. Although scholarships may be awarded before notice of admission, they are conditioned upon the enrollment of the applicant in an undergraduate course in a recognized college or university. The committee reserves the right to determine whether the school selected qualifies under this definition. The scholarship check will be made payable to both the school and the applicant.
3. Two personal recommendations must be submitted with the application. One recommendation must be from a former employer or a responsible adult from the community in which the applicant lives, and one recommendation must be from a principal or guidance counselor. The recommenders can not be related to the applicant.
4. Transcript of high school grades including GPA (ACT/SAT scores if taken).
