Through their generosity Edwin A. "Blue" and Janice Owen Miller established a charitable fund at East Texas Communities Foundation to provide annual grants to support charities benefiting Henderson County. The Foundation seeks strong projects based on good ideas and compelling needs which have the potential to improve the Henderson County community and the lives of its people. Requests for support in the areas of education, health, human services, environment, and the arts are welcome. Grant awards will be announced by August 31.
Applicants are limited to non-profits providing services in Henderson County, Texas.
Applicants must be tax-exempt, non-profit organizations with 501(c)(3) status or a governmental entity.
Services must be available to citizens of the community without regard to race or religion.
The Foundation does not fund grants to individuals or political activities.
Applicants must attach a detailed project budget, current fiscal year operating budget, and your most recent financial statements viewed by your board of directors.
Applicants should be available to meet with the Grants Committee for clarification or to answer additional questions, if requested.
Based on available funding and the Foundation's desire to support multiple organizations in the community, individual grant requests should be limited to a maximum of $10,000.
