2017 Hokulani Washington Fund Scholarship

Estelle Kelley established this scholarship fund to support the ability of others with less means to experience the life gift of education marked by openness, critical inquiry, and strong development of emotional values. She believes that ongoing education is a key factor in enriching and sustaining lives that honor individuals' uniqueness.


Applicants must:
--Be residents of Washington State, with preference given to residents of Clark, Cowlitz and Skamania counties.
--Be either (1) a graduating high school senior from public or private schools within the state of Washington or the Greater Portland, Oregon Metropolitan Area OR (2) a current student continuing their undergraduate education.
--Have a cumulative GPA of 2.95 – 3.45.
--Continue their education during the upcoming school year at an accredited private four-year college or university anywhere on the mainland United States (not in Hawaii, Alaska, or other U.S. territories). The school must focus on the liberal arts and sciences, but may have professional schools if such schools are integrated into the liberal arts focus. Undergraduate student population must range from 1,500 – 4,000 students. Example of a school that meets the criteria: Pacific Lutheran University.

Preference will be given to students who are the first member in their family to attend an accredited college or university.

In order to receive additional awards, students must apply each year and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5.
