The Vance Scholarship was established by Chuck Vance, a former United States Secret Service agent and founder of a private security firm in Oakton, VA. The scholarship is for men and women who seek a career in law enforcement or private security including studies in the administration of justice.
The scholarship is administered by the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia.
The scholarship is open to permanent legal residents of Northern Virginia residents (defined as the areas of Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William Counties) who are full or part time students in an accredited degree program studying law enforcement or security (criminal justice, etc.).
Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent legal residents.
Applicants must be residents of Northern Virginia.
Awards will range from $1,000 to $2,000.
