2017 MCCF Spring Grant Competition

Deadline: March 17 2017 at 12:00 PM EDT (Noon) - CLOSED

This program is inactive or past the deadline.

Description

The Muskingum County Community Foundation distributes grants through an annual grant competition to organizations that enhance the quality of life in Muskingum County. Nonprofit organizations with a vision for the future of our community are encouraged to participate. Applicants must be organizations that serve Muskingum County.

MCCF’s work is now focused around four cornerstones: Economic Vitality, Education, Arts & Culture and Wellness & Recreation.

The Foundation has actively started work in the areas of Economic Vitality and Education; therefore, at least 80% of the available grant dollars this cycle will benefit those two priority areas:
* Economic Vitality -- Projects addressing growth of educational attainment or increasing employment in Muskingum County.
* Education -- Projects addressing growth of grade level readiness in Muskingum County.
* Up to 20% of the available money could be allocated towards Arts & Culture and Wellness & Recreation projects.

The Distribution Committee of the Community Foundation reviews the applications and recommends grant awards. The current members of the Distribution Committee are Chair & MCCF Trustee Susan Holdren, MCCF Trustee Matt Elli, MCCF Trustee Maryjane Shackelford, MCCF Trustee Geraldine Zylinsky, MCCF Council Member Lisa Karling, and the following community representatives: Eileen Adams, Steve Baldwin, Megan Durst, Jeff Heacock, and Susan Thompson. Grants are made from MCCF's general fund.

You may apply for any amount of money but the TOTAL pool of available dollars for the 2017 Spring Grant program is $35,000.
