The Rotary Polio Awareness Essay Scholarship provides a one-time award of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) to a graduate of an accredited public high school in Springdale pursuing post-secondary education at a university, community college, or vocational or technical school in Arkansas.
The Rotary Polio Awareness Essay Scholarship helps deserving students continue their education by providing financial assistance for tuition, books, and associated fees.
The criteria for selection of the scholarship recipient is determined by the selection committee and is based primarily on the submitted essay. Essay Question: Describe Rotary International’s efforts to eliminate Polio from the World. Consider scientific, logistic, political, and humanitarian aspects of this commitment and current progress toward the goal of eliminating the second human disease in history. Limit your essay to 750 words or less.
Qualified applicants must be:
Graduating seniors from an accredited public high school in Springdale, with a minimum 3.0 GPA and a minimum cumulative ACT score of 24, and
Enrolling in a 2-year or 4-year university, community college, or vocational or technical school in Arkansas.
Age, race, sex, marital status or religious affiliation will have no bearing on eligibility for this scholarship.
