Camp Rainbow Gold - College Scholarship Application - 2018

Deadline: January 31 2018 at 11:59 PM MST (Midnight)

With the increased survival rate of children with cancer, a new opportunity emerges — the opportunity for the cancer survivor to achieve his or her dreams. For many, the financial impact from a cancer diagnosis puts higher education out of reach.

The Camp Rainbow Gold College Scholarship Program provides young adults with a history of cancer that have attended Camp Rainbow Gold Oncology Camp an opportunity to pursue post-secondary education, fulfill their dreams and realize their full potential.

The scholarship program has been so successful and with the increasing number of qualified applicants, we have had to make some difficult choices and are not able to award all who apply. You will be notified of the committee’s decision in late April.

Only those applicants who meet all of these eligibility requirements will be considered for scholarship awards.

The Camp Rainbow Gold Inc. College Scholarship Program provides a possible lifetime award of up to $20,000 per student. This award is offered increments of up to $5,000 per year, with a $2,500 check being issued to the college in the Fall and the remaining $2,500 balance disbursed after the scholar has provided transcripts from the first semester. After the initial award, scholarship renewal in subsequent years is based on successfully meeting program eligibility requirements, new application and criteria, continuous academic achievement, and a level of commitment as a Camp Rainbow Gold volunteer. Community colleges and tech schools will receive an amount equivalent to their tuition rates.

The number of scholarships available is determined by donations for the program. Due to limited resources, Camp Rainbow Gold is not able to award scholarships to all cancer survivors who apply. Those applying for undergraduate education will get priority.
