SATURATE is an annual, city-wide collaboration to promote Spokane's diverse yet under-recognized community of artists of color. For the Visual Arts Tour in February, arts venues large and small will simultaneously feature artwork, curatorial projects, and performances by artists of color from around the Spokane region. Your participation, and that of every artist and venue joining in, will help deepen the conversation on race, identity, and culture in our city and beyond.
Spokane Arts is putting the call out for our SATURATE artist roster! We are looking to create a roster of local artists of color to draw upon as possible participants in our SATURATE event. We would utilize this roster as a resource to help facilitate galleries and venues in finding and choosing artists to show/perform in their locations during SATURATE. In addition, the roster may be utilized by other future events and venues in order to highlight the diversity of Spokane’s creative community.
All who submit to the SATURATE roster will be included into our online Artist Roster on wwww.SpokaneArts.org. If you have already submitted to our online roster, wonderful! Please note that the purpose of the SATURATE roster is separate from our online Artist Roster. Please consider including yourself to the SATURATE roster so you may be considered for our annual SATURATE event for 2018 and beyond.
We welcome and encourage visual artists of all disciplines, performance artists, as well as musicians, dancers, and dramatic performances.
We ask that our white-identified friends support this deliberate promotion of our diverse creative community. Please support our event by promoting, sharing, and coming out to experience SATURATE 2018. No matter how you identify, if you are non-white, we want you to see yourself as leaders in this effort.
Please include your name, medium/discipline, website/social media links, 1-3 images of your work, email/contact info.
Person of color living in or surrounding the Spokane county area. If you visit Spokane, WA often and participate frequently in our community then we want to include you as well to our roster.
