This application is for REAPPLICANTS only. If you have previously been awarded a Leever/MacDermid scholarship, complete this application to renew your scholarship for another year.
The Leever Foundation, which exists through the generosity and vision of Harold and Ruth Ann Leever, provides college scholarships of up to $5,200 per recipient each year, based on consideration of merit and financial need. Leever Scholarships are available only to the children of MacDermid employees worldwide.
A scholarship committee of Connecticut Community Foundation, composed of individuals totally independent and separate from The Leever Foundation and MacDermid, reviews the applications and selects scholarship recipients.
For additional information, contact Connecticut Community Foundation by phone at 203.753.1315, by fax at 203.756.3054, or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The applicant must initially be the child or stepchild of a current MacDermid employee. Once awarded, neither the scholarship nor scholarship renewals are subject to the continued employment at MacDermid by the student’s parent.
Leever Scholarships are available to high school students or adults entering their first year of college, and students currently in college pursuing an undergraduate degree. The scholarships are available for any academic discipline or degree.
Students must be entering a full two-semester year. This scholarship program does not include internships or add-on assignments that follow the senior year of study. Students must attend or be attending an accredited college or university in countries where an accreditation system exists. If an accreditation system does not exist, then this requirement is waived.
Priority consideration is given to students in good standing (a cumulative B- or 2.75 GPA or better) who are re-applying for subsequent years (up to four years) of their undergraduate education, and who show financial need.
Students who were previously awarded a Leever scholarship and are re-applying do not need to submit a recommendation or a new essay. However, they must submit a completed application form, a transcript of their grades, and an update letter noting the extracurricular activities and the work experience performed since their last application to the Foundation.
