The Jeff Whorton Memorial Scholarship provides support to students who are a graduate of an accredited public high school in Springdale pursuing post-secondary education at a two- or four-year college or vocational school.
The Jeff Whorton Memorial Scholarship helps deserving students further their education by providing financial assistance for tuition, fees and books over one academic year.
The criteria for selection of the scholarship recipient is determined by the selection committee, and may include, but not limited to, student character, academic performance, financial need, unusual circumstances, and volunteer, work, or extracurricular activities.
Qualified applicants must be:
* Graduating from an accredited public high school in Springdale,
* A member in good standing of the high school Golf team,
* Willing to attend the Whorton Cup Golf Tournament Dinner, and
* Enrolling at a two- or four-year college or vocational school.
YOU WILL NEED TO INCLUDE INFORMATION IN YOUR COVER LETTER THAT DETAILS WHY YOU FIRST PICKED UP THE GAME OF GOLF AND HOW COMPETING IN A GOLF MATCH INFLUENCES OTHER AREAS OF YOUR LIFE.
Age, race, sex, marital status or religious affiliation will have no bearing on eligibility for this scholarship.
