More than 130 scholarships are available for students returning to BCC in the fall,as well as 15 for students transferring to another educational institution. Awards range from $250 to $5,000. Completing this one application will place you in consideration for all awards.
BCC Foundation scholarships are first and foremost awarded for academic merit and financial need. However, many scholarships place importance on community service, specific career goals, and individual characteristics.
As of December 2013 you must:
* have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75
* be enrolled in a degree or certificate program
* have completed 12 or more credits at BCC
If you have earned less than 12 credits, you are considered an Incoming Student and should complete the Incoming Student application.
TIPS AS YOU PREPARE TO COMPLETE THE APPLICATION:
You may first preview the application to get an idea of what you will need. You may save your application and return at any time. There is no time limit, other than the application deadline.
You must obtain a recommendation from someone who knows you well in a professional or academic setting and is not related to you. You may choose a faculty member, an advisor, a current or former employer or supervisor, etc. You will need this contact's e-mail address as this process is done electronically.
In order to submit your application for consideration, you must have completed the application, and the recommendation from your contact must be received as well. Give your recommender enough time to complete the recommendation so that you can submit your completed application before the deadline.
You are also required to write an essay. The committee is interested in learning more about you, your academic and career goals.
